In English: Project information
Redesign Belonging (ReBel) aims to foster solidarity and promote sense of belonging among migrant women who have been in home countries for more than five years. By involving these women in co-creative activities with professional designers, the project aims to develop innovative models and solutions for integration, tailored to various contexts within the EU.
The activities will take place in parallel in the other countries involved, bringing together migrant women with local citizens, NGO representatives, local and regional authorities, in workshops where open dialogue between the groups will be promoted. Migrants will be able to present the obstacles they have faced, and continue to face, in integrating into the home society, as well as their resilience strategies.
Project objectives:
- Foster and empower migrant women’s sense of belonging through co-creation model.
- Address integration gaps by exploring barriers and resilience strategies.
- Provide actionable recommendations to influence local and international policy.
ReBel project is co-financed by the European Commission in the framework of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV). The project consortium includes Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland, coordinator), Euro-Arab Foundation for Higher Studies (Spain), Educational Centre Visio (Finland) and the international organization What Design Can Do (The Netherlands).
Why have I been asked to take part?
This workshop “Redesign belonging” is a part of our project phase called “Research dialogues in Finland”. Together we will identify the real challenges, needs and obstacles that migrant women are facing, and how they affect their sense of belonging and integration in the new home society. Furthermore, we shall dive into designing potential solutions to make a difference.
This event is also a perfect opportunity for building a social and professional network, sharing your valuable experiences, and having your voice heard in policymaking. We want to make a difference – and you are a valuable member in our cause.
You will have the chance to hear about an innovation challenge we will be launching at the end of this year, in which the best solutions and teams get the chance to develop their solutions further.
What do you want me to do?
Before we start, we would like you to read through the consent form, fill in the required information. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask one of the workshop facilitators.
Do I have to participate?
You do not have to participate; the choice is yours. You can also change your mind at any time, and you do not have to give a reason for it. Contact one of the workshop facilitators to support you.
How will the information be used?
The information created and collected during the workshop will be used to contribute towards the ReBel project, its reports, articles and conference publications. The findings and outcomes of the workshop will form the base for innovative models, solutions and recommendations for policy making for enhancing the sense of belonging in new host societies within EU.
None of the information will identify you. Your personal data will be anonymised or pseudonymised, and it will be compiled alongside other people’s information and presented in a generic way.
How can I find out about the results of the research?
We will publish e.g., project news, events, articles, blogs etc. on our website https://redesignbelonging.eu.
Data Protection
Any personal information that we collect from you during the project will be in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that we cannot collect anything without your consent, which is the legal foundation for collecting and storing personal information in relation to the project.
What personal information will you collect from me?
In addition to your name, we will collect some background information about you, which will include e.g. age, gender, place of birth, country of residence, educational background etc. You may opt not to answer some of the questions if you prefer. Background information will be processed separately from your personal identifying information (name, email etc.).
Will my personal information be stored? How long for?
Your personal information will be stored in locked filing cabinets only accessible by the local project manager for a maximum of two years or until the end of the project, and then will be securely destroyed.
Will any of my personal information be shared with anyone?
No, only the project group will be able to access and see your information that is used for project purposes. Your personal data will only be be used (e.g. name, email, etc.) to contact you according your consent and it will be processed separately from the project data. We will not share any of your personal information outside the project.
Can I cancel my consent afterwards?
You have a right to cancel your participation consent and request cancellation of your data as long as it has not been anonymised or pseudonymised (that is, the link from data to you has been removed). Suomeksi: Tietoa ReBel-hankkeesta
Redesign Belonging (ReBel) -hankkeen tavoitteena on edistää solidaarisuutta ja vahvistaa yhteenkuulumisen tunnetta maahan muuttaneiden naisten keskuudessa, jotka ovat asuneet uudessa kotimaassaan yli viisi vuotta. Hankkeessa kehitetään innovatiivisia malleja ja ratkaisuja kotoutumisen tueksi Euroopan alueella yhteiskehittämisen menetelmiä hyödyntäen.
Hanke toimii samanaikaisesti Suomen lisäksi Espanjassa ja Alankomaissa. Erilaiset tapahtumat tuovat yhteen maahanmuuttajanaisten lisäksi muita asukkaita, kansalaisjärjestöjen edustajia sekä paikallisia viranomaisia muun muassa työpajoissa, jotka edistävät ryhmien välistä avointa vuoropuhelua. Maahanmuuttajat voivat tuoda esiin kohtaamiaan haasteita ja esteitä kotoutumisessa sekä kertoa selviytymistavoistaan.
Hankkeen tavoitteet
- Vahvistaa ja voimaannuttaa maahanmuuttajanaisten yhteenkuuluvuuden tunnetta yhteiskehittämismallin avulla.
- Tuoda esiin kotoutumisen puutteita tutkimalla esteitä ja selviytymisstrategioita.
- Luoda konkreettisia suosituksia, jotka vaikuttavat paikalliseen ja kansainväliseen politiikkaan sekä toimintamalleihin.
ReBel-hankkeen rahoittaa osin Euroopan komission Kansalaiset, tasa-arvo, oikeudet ja arvot -ohjelmaa (CERV) -ohjelma. Miksi minut on pyydetty mukaan?
Tämä työpaja kuuluu hankkeemme alkukartoitusvaiheeseen (Tutkiva vuoropuhelu). Työpajassa pyrimme yhdessä tunnistamaan aitoja haasteita, tarpeita ja esteitä, joita maahan muuttaneet naiset kohtaavat, ja kuinka nämä vaikuttavat heidän kotoutumiseensa uuteen kotiyhteiskuntaan ja kuulumisen tunteeseen. Lisäksi paneudumme suunnittelemaan mahdollisia ratkaisuja, joilla voimme aikaansaada muutoksia.
Tämä työpaja tarjoaa myös erinomaisen mahdollisuuden sosiaalisen ja ammatillisen verkoston rakentamiseen, arvokkaiden kokemustesi jakamiseen sekä mahdollisuuden saada äänesi kuuluviin päätöksenteossa. Haluamme muuttaa asioita – ja sinä olet tärkeä osa tätä tavoitettamme.
Saat myös kuulla innovaatiokilpailusta, jonka käynnistämme vuoden lopussa. Parhailla ratkaisuilla ja tiimeillä on mahdollisuus kehittää ideoitaan eteenpäin.
Mitä minulta odotetaan?
Ennen kuin aloitamme, pyydämme sinua lukemaan suostumuslomakkeen ja täyttämään tarvittavat tiedot. Jos sinulla on kysyttävää, voit vapaasti esittää kysymyksesi työpajan järjestäjille.
Onko minun pakko osallistua?
Osallistuminen työpajaan on vapaaehtoista eikä sinun ei ole pakko osallistua tähän työpajaan. Valinta on sinun. Voit myös muuttaa mieltäsi milloin tahansa eikä sinun tarvitse kertoa siihen syytä. Ota yhteyttä työpajan järjestäjiin, jos et ymmärrä jotain tai jokin askarruttaa mieltäsi.
Kuinka kerättyjä tietoja käytetään?
Työpajoissa kerättyä tietoa hyödynnetään ReBel-hankkeessa muun muassa raporteissa, artikkeleissa ja konferenssijulkaisuissa. Työpajan havainnot ja tulokset muodostavat pohjan innovatiivisille toimintamalleille, ratkaisuille ja suosituksille, jotka tukevat yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen vahvistamista Euroopan alueella.
Mikään kerätty tieto ei yksilöi sinua. Henkilökohtaiset tietosi muutetaan nimettömään muotoon (anonymisoidaan tai pseudonymisoidaan), ja ne kootaan yhteen muiden ihmisten tietojen kanssa, joita tullaan käsittelemään yleisellä tasolla.

Tietosuoja
Kaikki henkilökohtaiset tiedot, jotka keräämme sinulta hankkeen aikana, ovat yleisen tietosuoja-asetuksen (GDPR) mukaisia. Tämä tarkoittaa, että emme voi kerätä mitään ilman suostumustasi, joka on laillinen perusta henkilötietojen keräämiselle ja säilyttämiselle hankkeessa.
Mitä henkilötietoja keräätte minulta?
Keräämme nimesi lisäksi myös joitakin taustatietoja sinusta, jotka sisältävät esimerkiksi iän, sukupuolen, syntymäpaikan, asuinmaan, koulutustaustan jne. Voit halutessasi jättää vastaamatta kysymyksiin. Taustatietoja ei yhdistetä sinua yksilöiviin tietoihin projektin aikana.
Tallennetaanko tietojani jonnekin? Kuinka pitkäksi aikaa?
Tietojasi säilytetään lukitussa arkistokaapissa, johon on pääsy vain hankkeen projektipäälliköllä, enintään kahden vuoden ajan tai projektin päättymiseen asti, minkä jälkeen ne tuhotaan turvallisesti.
Jaetaanko henkilötietojani kenellekään?
Emme jaa tietojasi hankkeen ulkopuolelle. Vain hankehenkilöillä on pääsy tietoihin, joita käytetään tutkimustarkoituksiin. Henkilötietojasi (esim. nimi, sähköposti jne.) ei käytetä projektiin liittyvässä tutkimuksessa ja niitä käsitellään erillään tutkimusaineistosta.
Voinko muuttaa mieltäni myöhemmin?
Sinulla on oikeus peruuttaa suostumuksesi ja pyytää tietojesi poistamista, kunhan niitä ei ole anonymisoitu tai pseudonymisoitu (eli yhteys sinuun on jo poistettu).
